Fullscreen, autoplay and player controls

Browser restrictions, real controls and keyboard commands.

Fullscreen and autoplay

Fullscreen requires browser support and may be limited by embedded mode or device policy. Interact with the page first, then use the fullscreen control. The autoplay preference expresses portal intent, but the browser may still block playback without a user gesture, especially with sound. The portal cannot bypass that policy.

Actual controls

The player provides playback, progress, time, volume, settings, picture-in-picture or AirPlay where supported by the environment, and fullscreen. Playback speed ranges from 0.5× to 2×. System features depend on browser capability.

Keyboard commands while the player is focused

  • Space or K: play and pause.
  • Left and Right: seek; Up and Down: volume.
  • M: mute, F: fullscreen, C: captions.
  • 09: jump to a fraction of duration; L: loop.
  • Escape: leave non-native fullscreen.

Shortcuts are not global: focus the player first. The account keyboard-control preference may disable them.
